MPhil in Business Administration-2018

 

Who is eligible to apply for the MPhil in Business Administration at IBA?

The candidate seeking admission in MPhil in Business Administration must have:

1.      Sixteen year education (BBA-Hons or MBA 2 years) with a minimum 2.5/4.0 CGPA (as per HEC criteria).

2.      Passed the IBA-MPhil Admission test. Only those candidates who will qualify the entry test (pass marks 50%) will be called for the interview.

How do I apply?

  Online Form is available at  http://admissions.pu.edu.pk w.e.f. 30-07-2018. The candidate will submit his/her online form upto 17-08-2018 (4:00 p.m.) and hard copy of application (generated online) along with fee deposit challan and relevant documents etc must be submitted/sent to the Department till 03-09-2018 (4:00 p.m.) by registered post/registered surface mail.

  Preferably online submission, in case of any difficulty, form may be submitted in the department via registered surface mail by downloading form from  http://www.pu.edu.pk/dpcc (till 03.09.2018).

  The incomplete applications in any respect will not be entertained

  Application forms are not to be submitted in person.

What is the minimum score required in the admission test?

It is necessary to pass the admission test to qualify for the interview. The pass marks are FIFTY percent.

 

Do you have any age limit for admission to the MPhil in Business Administration?

No, there are no age restrictions for admission to the MPhil in Business Administration.

 

Does IBA, University of Punjab, Lahore accept transfer credit?

No. If you have started MPhil or doctoral program at another university, you cannot transfer classes or research credit with the intention of completing that degree at IBA, University of Punjab, Lahore.

When is the admission test scheduled?

The admission test is scheduled on 14 September 2018. Timings are 9 am to 12 noon. Venue: Examination Hall, IBA

I have done BBA-Hons (or MBA) from a university other than University of the Punjab, can I apply for MPhil?

Yes, but you need an equivalence certificate from University of Punjab, Lahore.

What is the last merit of M.Phil admission?

The last merit of MPhil is 60.50 marks score.

How should I prepare for the Admission Test?

For the preparation of admission test, it is suggested to consult:

         GRE Preparation Book (latest edition)

         Master level books on Business Management, Finance, Marketing and Research Methodology

What is the fee structure of the MPhil program?

It is Rs 40,000 per year approx.

How will you notify me the result of the admission test?

The result of admission test will be pasted on the IBAs notice board on 19 September 2018. In addition, it will be uploaded on the IBAs website: www.ibapu.edu.pk

 

When are the interviews scheduled?

The interviews are scheduled from 27-09-2018.

Interview schedule will be pasted on the notice board along with the result of the admission test on 19 September 2018.

 

How will you notify me regarding the decision on my application?

The general and first merit list will be pasted on the IBAs notice board on 04 October 2018. In addition, these lists will be uploaded on the IBAs website: www.ibapu.edu.pk

 

What is the duration of MPhil?

It is a two years program. The 24 credit hours course work will be offered during the first year in two semesters. Each semester spreads over 18 weeks.

After the successful completion of the course work, thesis will be written by the student.

What is the total number of seats for MPhil program?

20 research scholars will be given admission in MPhil program in Fall 2018.

What are the timings of classes?

The classes will be scheduled in the evening.

How merit will be calculated?

An applicant shall be judged on the basis of the following criteria for admission:

 

a)

Academic qualifications*- 40 Marks

 

b)

Publications in HEC approved journals - (1 Mark per publication)-05 Marks

 

c)

Professional experience in relevant field 05 Marks (One Mark for each year for job in the relevant field / as per Departmental preference)

d)

Departmental written/entry test (comprehension of the subject, General aptitude for research)  40 Marks

e)

Interview 10 Marks

Out of 40 marks reserved for academic qualifications, 40 marks for the departmental admission test and 10 for the interview, minimum 50% are the qualifying marks in each of the category. That means a candidate must obtain at least 20 marks in the academic qualification, (19.1 will be rounded to 20), 20 marks in the entrance test and 5 marks in the interview separately to be eligible for the admission.

Only those candidates who qualify the written test will be called for an interview.
